Responsibilities
This position is responsible for general food service prep work, in the Junction or Marketplace Kitchen.

Duties include:
  • Basic prep & order fulfillment
  • Preparing food items used in the junction or the marketplace and catering.
  • Peeling onions, carrots, washing and cutting fruits and vegetables
  • Cutting and trimming meats, chicken, beef, pork and fish
  • Cooking meats, sauces, starches, and vegetables
  • Keep the work station clean and sanitized
  • Help other areas during busy times
  • Other duties assigned by the chef


Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
  • Food Handler's Permit is required within the first 30 days of employment.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform work involving use of kitchen utensils and equipment relating to food service operations.
  • Knowledge of health hazards in food preparation, service and necessary precautionary measures.

The position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting (50 pounds) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions such as crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Additionally, the work environment can include confined or narrow spaces. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.
